Lillian Clenance Deyerberg letter:

Friedrich Kleinhans, a baker by trade arrived at Seaford Town by July 20,1836. He was 34 years old. His wife Christina was 26 years old. They had two children: son Frederic 11 Years old and Melinsina 14 months old. Friederic (father) died on Dec 9, 1836 of Biliouus fever.

Frederic married Caroline Dewar (half English, half Jewish). They had six children,Miriam, Elam. Theodore, Alexander, and Daniel,

Alexander name changed to Clenance, married Jane Whitingham- children Milton,Ida, Alma. Alex had a son John Cedrick Clenance out of wedlock. Alex married Eufimia ? Ruddock their son Keith Lewellyn Clenance.

Uncle Keith had a son Clinton Clenance . He married again and moved to StCroix and had several children. I donot know all of them but I met Chreyl King who lives in StCroix, Gege Clenance lives in St Thomas and Kervin, her brother is on facebook and lives in Florida.

Ida Clenance married Fred Tyson- They had three children in Jamaica, Ottoman, Beryl and Myrtle. I do not know if Myrtle is still alive. She lives on the property in Lambs River, Jamaica. She is in her 90s.

Fred Tyson moved to California and Ida followed leaving her children in Jamaica with the intension of sending for them but the depression was on and could not afford to do it. They had two daughters in Calif. Grace and Thelma. There is lots more to tell but I am getting tired.

  4. Hi, Just an update on the origin of Caroline Dewar (Issacs or Doer). She was of African descent. She was my 2nd GGM and I received my MtDNA results (mom's mom, mom... etc DNA) It is L3e4 Haplogroup. L3A types in the Americas are, again, probably of largely western African provenance, with lesser west-central and southeastern African components.
She could have been English, but very unlikely Jewish. My mom and her cousin have absolutely no Jewish DNA. So make of this as you will. Karen
